hiiiiii

first off: thank you for being here.

Here’s a little about me…

the quick answer:

I’m Gabi! A tattoo artist, UX/UI designer & writer from Salt Lake City, Utah.

  • From the second I picked up a tattoo gun, I hit the ground running. In the past 2 years I have had the chance to tattoo in 6 different cities across the United States and Canada! From the beaches of the Pacific to shores of the Atlantic I have tattooed in each time zone across North America.

  • Before fulfilling a life long dream of moving to Montana, I spent the past 2 years jumping between in Vancouver, British Columbia and Salt Lake City, Utah. I have been able to tattoo the most amazing clients a girl could ask for.

  • Growing up in the mountains I quickly learned to love the outdoors and spend most of my free time skiing, hiking, running, camping, and slack-lining every once in a while… the whole lot!

  • My inspiration usually comes from everyday life. Little moments constantly inspire my drawings. I also love turning other people’s moments and memories into tats.

  • Lately, I have been exploring other mediums, so you might see some painting, lino, animation and other art forms pop up.

I am a big fan of sunsets, live music, reading, popcorn and my dog Tuck.

the long winded answer:

It all started in high school when I decided to take a graphic design class. I knew pretty quickly that it was an expression of art I finally felt like fit me. I didn’t really start drawing until the past year or two. I also learned to screen print in high school and started my first art(ish) endeavor, City Limits Sweatshirts.

I went on to study Multi-Disciplinary Design at the University of Utah with an emphasis in digital product design. I graduated in May of 2021, spent the summer traveling around the west, and continued working as a freelance UX/UI designer. In September of 2021, I decided to take a design research position at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia. After a quick 3 months in Canada, I found myself back in Utah for the holidays and I didn’t have anything planned for 2022.

I spent January skiing and taking a much needed break. As February rolled around, I was ready to try something very different than anything I had ever done before. I finally listened to my best friend Dev and bought a tattoo gun. I also somehow convinced Hannah Matthews to teach me the MANY tricks of the trade (I will forever be indebted to her).

After spending 6 months tattooing in Utah and 8 months in Vancouver, I decided to take a leap of faith and move to Missoula. Now I am here just livin life and seeing what’s up next! I’ve got some fun plans ahead for 2024, so tag along for the (always) chaotic adventure.

meet lane!

we are high school besties turned co-workers!

lane & I met in middle school, became fast friends, and have been fortunate enough to travel the world together! As Fredrik Backman stated in his novel Beartown, “You never have the sort of friends you have when you’re fifteen ever again.” We have been lucky enough to be in each other’s lives at 15 as well as a decade later in our mid-twenties! lane & I coined ourselves “the gruesome twosome” due to the fierce closeness of our friendship, not to mention it was only natural to come up with a name for your friend group in highschool, right? our contacts for each other remain “gruesome twosome” to this day and we’re back to our shenanigans, but this time in a professional setting.

Lane is the wonderful admin at tucker & fin! She helps gabi answer emails, schedule, and generally keep everything in order. Lane’s home is basically a zoo full 2 dogs, 4 cats, and a hubby. She also loves fostering kittens during kitten season and devours books like it’s her second job.
